TESL - Engineering
Excellence for a
Sustainable Future

Twigden Engineering Systems Limited (TESL), can provide over 30 years of engineering expertise to our customers, with an array of knowledge built across both the industrial and nuclear sectors.

Utilising the knowledge gained , TESL can provide their customers with the required support for complex operational and engineering problems.  Ensuring that the customers requirements come first, whilst always being met.

Having worked within legacy nuclear facilities, TESL has a multitude of support systems well embedded, which can help to resolve engineering technical problems swiftly, whilst meeting the customers overall operational requirements.

Our commitment to best available techniques (BAT) to support the customers operational and technical requirements, ensures that the customer obtains value for money.

Utilising robust systems engineering principles, to ensure that the overall end goal is achieved, whilst understanding the customers operational lifecycle.  pAll whilst taking into account the customers operational support systems, such as training, maintenance and operational overheads.

Your Partner in Engineering Innovation

With 30 years of experience in both industrial manufacturing and the nuclear energy sector, TESL personnel has the ability to provide the customer with a multitude of roles, to provide overall engineering excellance.  Whether its working from within manufacturing facilities. Or on nuclear sites, decommissioning some of Europes most hazardous facilities.  The team at TESL dedicate their time and energy to solve complex engineering solutions, whilst providing value for money for the customer.

So what can TESL do for yourself...

TESL has various skillsets, which can be utilised within your company.

  • System Engineering Support - Condition assessments, age modelling, complete life cycle asset assessment.
  • Reliability Engineering - Understanding the facilities operational requirements.  Does each system meet there requirements and understanding the long term reliabilty, setup, operational cost, replair and replacement  for the lifecycle of the facility.
  • Multiple System Boundary - Understand multiple systems boundaries, joint concerns and how best to minimise cost
  • System Engineering Lifecycle Modelling - Cradle to Grave approach of each asset within a complete system.
  • System Understanding - Providing engineering expertise for the complete system, when operational demand is high.
  • Multiple System Functionality - Provide assessment & operational understanding, when multiple systems work in tandem
  • Project support - Plant Modification work, design, engineering skillsets, factory acceptance testing and commissioning
  • Manufacturing Excellence - Understanding failure rates across the system, embedding the right level of maintenance to minimise losses to operational plants.  Increase productivity, reliability and embed a good culture.
  • Short Term & Long Term Periodic Review - Carry out safety assessments across multiple systems to ensure the correct level of compliance with site license conditions within the nuclear sector.  Highlight shortfalls, document and action.
  • Japanese Manufacturing Techniques - Just In Time (JIT) Approach to manufacturing, lean manufacturing, Kanban spares, critical spares.
  • Maintenance Support - Provide support for maintenance activities, including maintenance instruction production, training, spares management and obsolescence reviews.
  • Engineering support - Provide enginering support for comlex problems.  Breakdown the issue.  carry out extensive optionering reviews with key stakeholders to help aid the delivery and rectification of the area of concern.

At TESL we understand the complexity of the nuclear industry.  When delivering on these complex issues, the team ensures that the solution provided, can easily be handed over to the customer.  Having learnt from any initial start up / infancy issues. TESL has the skillsets to provide training for the key personnel operationally and technically.  Taking into account complexity, maintainability and longevity with a sufficient level of critical spares, to meet the lifecycle of the asset.  Whilst understanding the customer needs to have no obsolescence concern, until the equipment is embedded and becomes mature.  Thus minimising lost time, productability and providing the customer with maximum operational delivery.

TESL's,  Systems Engineering Approach

What can TESL do for company?

TESL Employees have been within the heart of the nuclear sector and industrial facilities since the 1990s.

Having worked within complex system engineering roles, following the systematic approach to engineering, whilst aiding the safe delivery of hundreds of projects through the nuclear decommissioning complexes in the nuclear sector.

Having worked with major manufacturing companies across Europe to provide the nuclear sector with cutting edge technology, whilst educating the operational users and maintainers, to a standard where they understand the simplicity of the equipment provided.

TESL Collaborative working and delivery.

Having worked hand in hand with remote handling manufacturers, across Europe to provide countless engineering solutions for the longevity of various aging facilities.

Supporting the process of design, manufacture, trial and testing of new technological equipment to reduce the accountancy of waste within legacy facilities.

Stream line operational processes to reduce the downtime for facilities, thus reducing risk.  Understanding that each system has a cradle to grave approach during its lifecycle.

Understanding accountability for the safe delivery of various complex project work.

Provide customers with in depth assessments of their new and existing equipment, utilising structured walk downs,      engineering judgement and age models to provide a clear overall lifecycle cost for the customer.

Engineering analysis of systems, to understand any operational risk and the overall reliability of the system.  For example, predict where bottle necks could occur , due to poor design or reliability.  Understand how these can be stream lined.        Reduce operational losses for the customer, as the facilities move through their lifecycle towards post operational clean up.

Ensuring that all testing and commissioning activities are completed correctly, is key.  Utilising  fit for purpose solutions, whilst ensuring that any potential change, can still be launched in line with the operational requirements of the customer.

TESL can play a key leadership role in the safe delivery of these examples, to ensure that value for money is provided. In the event that any stage a problem occurs.  TESL understands the support streams to bring it back on track.  All whilst ensuring that the verification and validation process is adhered to.

All of these examples, the customers requirements need to be met.  Ensuring that key touch points are adhered to and at the correct stage of delivery.  This will keep the customer engaged and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the process.
